WW2 German Tropical Jacket
Offered here is a very nice example of the tropical jacket issued to German soldiers who fought in the Mediterranean theatre. This jacket is the 3rd pattern tropical jacket. These jackets were typically issued to soldiers stationed in Italy & Greece. While often billed as “Afrika Korps”, while there is a chance they were used by the DAK, it’s far more likely that they were just used by servicemen in Italy & Greece. The shoulder boards on this jacket are reproductions. The chest eagle along with the Iron Cross 2nd class ribbon have been added to the jacket later on. Eagle & ribbon are both original items. This jacket is very minty with no serious damage that I can see. This would be a very difficult piece to upgrade!
