Offered here is a very fine and interesting painted A2 Jacket squadron patch for the 448th Bomb Group. The 448th was first raised in 1943 and transferred to service in England. Their first mission is listed as Dec 22nd 1943, and their last mission before being reorganized was 25th of April 1945.

Total bomb tonnage: 15,272

Aircraft MIA: 101

This bomber group flew the B24 “Liberator” heavy bomber. There is a tremendous amount of information about this group with an easy google search! In the last photo (not included with patch) you can see an airmen wearing this exact patch on his A2 jacket.
