Offered here is a very lovely Italian fascist mother’s medal. During the “Battle of the Births”, Mussolini intended to increase the birth rate of Italy with various incentives. Mothers who gave birth to a substantial number of children were awarded with these medals. This medal has 8 bows attached, indicating that the woman awarded this medal gave birth to 8 children. What makes this medal unique is that it is accompanied by its original paper packet with the corresponding “8” stamped onto it. These medals with original paper packets are not easily found, making this a very nice and interesting set!
